Kuala Lumpur, 12 October 2016 – Dagang NeXchange Berhad (“DNeX”), through its wholly-owned subsidiary Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd, signed an ePermit Licence Agreement with Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (“STIDC”).
Under the agreement, STIDC is granted by DNeX a non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the ePermit application solely for internal use thus enabling customised and dynamic ePermit application.
In addition, STIDC as a permit-issuing agency authorised by the Royal Malaysian Customs can improve on efficiency and transparency of application and approval process for permits relating to timber industry for the state.
ePermit, one of six services offered under the National Single Window (“NSW”) for Trade Facilitation, enables permits from relevant permit-issuing agencies to be applied and obtain approval online.
At the signing ceremony held in Miri today, STIDC was represented by its General Manager Datu Sarudu Hoklai and Deputy General Manager Tuan Haji Hashim Haji Bojet while DNeX was represented by its Executive Deputy Chairman Datuk Samsul Husin and En Wan Ahmad Syatibi Wan Abdul Manan, Chief Executive Officer of Dagang Net.
The signing was witnessed by Yang Berhormat Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Minister of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development, Trade and Investment and also Chairman of STIDC.
“We are honoured to be working with STIDC and committed to contribute to the corporation’s efforts in improving its services to the timber industries. DNeX has been the operator of the NSW for Trade Facilitation since its launch in 2009 and backed by more than 27 years of experience – in terms of knowledge, expertise and operational know-how – in offering e-services, we have the edge to deliver and fulfill our customers’ requirements,” said Datuk Samsul.
